BRUH ITS LIKE 2013 ALL OVER AGAIN. YES WE ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT HOOD BY AIR. For those of you who need their memory jogged, HBA is a fashion label created by Shayne Oliver and Ian Isiah, two designers with the goal of filling the gap between high fashion and streetwear. Growing up in the tristate area I remember that brand really being popular for a couple years due to the fact it had an interesting combination of abstract yet minimalist shit that anyone could appreciate. Sure this market was being saturated by short lived brands like Been trill or Pyrex but it seemed that HBA had more of a creative goal than the later brands. However it seems like everything went to shit in 2015 when rapper/ fashionista ASAP Rocky dissed the label in his song “Multiply” . Ever since then it seems like every time you bring up the brand in conversation somebody has to repeat Asap’s damning words “that hba shit is weak you can keep that”. However, recently, social media influencer and full time facetat enthusiast, Kerwin Frost has brough HBA back into discussion through his “Kerwin Talks” interview with the HBA owners. Whether you don’t like the brand or think the brand is revolutionary the moral of this story is public opinion is usually just based on some clouted person’s opinion so when it comes to dressing, just stay true to yourself cause at the end of the day its the person wearing the outfit not the outfit wearing the person.
